As a tire manufacturer, TOYO TIRES always looks at ways simultaneously to contribute itself to and continue our environmental care as well as motor sports (MS) activities, which require intense technological development that gives some effects to the development of mass-production tires.

The contents of this web site are divided into two groups: the "GLOBAL ACTIVITIES" introduces the activities that TOYO TIRES directly involved, and the "LOCAL ACTIVITIES" introduces the motor sport activities that use commercially-available tires in each market.

Relevant Motor Sport Activities

Race
Typified by F1 that is the highest class of auto racing. Two or more cars start at the same time to compete their speed. It is divided into two types of racing: the "Sprint Racing", competing for speed to run through a given course, and the "Endurance Racing", competing for time in a given distance or for distance in a given time.

Rally Raid
Typified by the Dakar Rally, held for several days or weeks driving on dirt roads under the extreme conditions through deserts, jungles, and mountainous areas. Not only competing for technique and speed, but also the endurance capability is important.
Not like a sports car, a durable machine and tire set like commonly used for a normal rally racing is required, since it needs to run though hundreds of kilometers without refueling.

Gymkhana
Gymkhana is a slalom competition conducted on a pavement.
Competing one by one on a mini-circuit course or a course crafted with pylons.
Prior to driving, competitors actually walk the course to remember it because the course is introduced on a racing day.
Each competitor can drive 2 times and the faster result is used to rank competitors A driver can participate even with a private car if licensed.
If a racing is conducted on an unpaved road, it is called "Dirt Trial".

Drag Race
Started in the U.S., competing for time to cross a set finish line from a standing start in a straight line.
Different from a circuit competition, a winner or looser can be decided in a few seconds for high-powered exclusive drag machine. It is sometimes held for a performance since it gives impactful view with white smoke from the burnout and a racing car itself making laud exhaust sound before starting.
The great variety of machines including motor cycle, passenger car, tractor head or special vehicle are usually competed against each other one-on-one.
The most of competition uses the distance of 1/4 mile (roughly 402 m), however this is not predetermined. The Japanese calls a drag racing "Zero Yon" in Japanese because the distance of 1/4 mile is from 0 (Zero) to 400 m (4=Yon).

Drift
A speed and technical competition using drifting driving, which is to upset tires’ grip to make a slip driving. The All Japan Professional Drift Championship (The D1 Grand Prix) series consist of 6 to 8 competitions in a season.
A total of thirty competitors, consist of the top twenty qualifiers and the ten seeded, can start the final racing. The competitors run by himself for the first round to be determined for the top sixteen who will go to the Tsuisou Round, which is a single elimination tournament.
Certain points are given to the drivers based on the tournament results, the series champion will be determined by the total series points.
